5by5 Radio App Reviews

This app does everything right except the menubar icon — It touches the bottom of the bar, looks generic, and the blue/red does not match the blue of any other "active" icons in the bar. Would love a "[ ON AIR ]" small block icon that lights up when its live.

Nothing seems to happen when I click on About 5by5 Radio. (edit: actually what seems to happen is that the about window appears behind all the other windows, it should be appearing at the front)

I love 5by5, and now I can listen to it here on my computer. Hooray for Dan Benjamin and the fine people at 5by5!

Runs in the toolbar, very convenient. Wish it didnt auto-default to notify for all shows - takes some time to deselect what Im not interested in.

Fantastic! I always listened live on my phone while sitting at my computer, but now it is so bloody easy. Great app! Keep the empire growing!

Great App for following the 5by5 Podcast Network! Ability to change Autolaunch for chat client would be a great addition.

I cant say enough good things about the quality of the shows on 5by5. This app, while simple, is yet another great way to listen. I try to limit my live listening so that I have something to listen to on my iphone when I travel, but there are times when this will come in very handy. Thanks Dan!

The 5by5 podcasts are fantastic, and this app provides a great way to listen to them live from your Mac.

Love the "Upcoming Shows" feature and notifications. Great addition to an outstanding podcast network. For me, this may be the first killer app for Notification Center. Thank you 5by5! But if I may be hypercritical for a moment: kinda weird that the icon touches the bottom of the menubar.

This app is great. It does exactly what it advertises and it execute flawlessly. It is similar to the 5by5 Network itself – the best. The fact that it doesnt seem to have any bugs in a 1.0 version is a testament to the developers and to the quality control of Dan Benjamin.

Works great like everybody else said. My only suggestion is to support the keyboard media keys for pause/play. Pandabar app does this and its a huge help.

I have zero interest in comic books. Please dont auto play new shows that are not found in the "Interested Shows"

Id like to listen to any episode of any show at any time, like the Mule Design iOS app. Unfortunatley, 5by5 apps--this one and the iOS version--do not offer this capability. I need to listen to a live stream of "pushed media." It makes me angry because I like some shows and hate others. Please improve time-shifting capability. I will recommend at this time. #systematic #in-beta #mpu #b2w

if I want to listen to the live feed, I have to leave the stream on all the time because the notifications aren’t in sync with the actual live feed. I kept missing the live shows I’m interested in because the alerts would go off a few hours too late. I changed the time zone settings on my computer (thinking that would fix it), but still get the late notifications (or no notifications at all). It’s an awesome app, but I wish the alerts were in sync with the actual schedule. I’m using tweetbot notifications for @5by5 right now until the current notifications get fixed. I definitely recommend getting this app, though.
